The list below provides examples of some dog breeds* approximate weight and girth size. These girth sizes are from AKC standard girths (show dog standards). If you do not own a "show quality" breed, we strongly urge you to measure your dogs girth to be certain. Note: Keep in mind that harness sizing can vary greatly from manufacturer to manufacturer. One brands "small" differs from another brands "small" just like with human clothing. To ensure the proper fit, measure your dog with a soft tape rule* for accurate measurement. Our video shows exactly where and how to measure your dog's girth.
